Linear Gallery Composition

(Layer was hidden in previous upload)

Linear Gallery Composition

In this composition, I juxtaposed a perspective view of the linear gallery with wire frame.  I drew guide lines that connect at the vanishing point to highlight the linear nature of the space.  I also made a  collage view out the window to connect the space to its outdoor environment.

Exercise 6

In this composition, I attempted to create a stronger sense of hierarchy and balance from my previous composition by adding a large version of my basic module of two overlapping K's.  This module is juxtaposed with smaller rendered and wire frame perspectives.  The perspectives together form a progression which appears to fade into the distance beyond the larger module.  The progression is slightly curved to highlight the curve of the large module and to reflect the subtly curving nature of the font which at first glance, appears entirely linear.

Project 5

In creating this composition, it was my intention to show how the change in height in the 3 dimensional is based on the line weight of the two dimensional drawing.  In order to show this I ran a transparent tub through the densest element of the line drawing, the wire frame model and the rendered model.  As a whole however, I think the composition is unbalanced and lacks hierarchy.  I struggled with making all aspects clear and the wire frame disappeared when I converted the file to JPEG.  I intend to make alterations to help make the composition clearer and more balanced.
